Socorro Historic Plaza

It seems that there aren’t many shops left here. I did visit one gift shop that was open and bought a few things. I spent more time circling around the plaza hoping there was more to do. Might have been more exciting years ago.

Every old-school town has a park and some are as loved and cared for as this one. The ancient trees, and I mean awesome old trees, give voice to the fact that the town's people have dedicated their love and care for a century in order to preserve this plaza's park with such a grand shade place and peaceful lawn. The rotunda is pretty darn large and special. A good place to park your folding chair and space out, thinking about the folks that did exactly that and pondered WW1 instead of a Pandemic.....

Fresh local produce, live music, fun for the kids. All in the center of Socorro. A weekly must visit to see what's new!!

Nothing much in this plaza..kinda boring actually. Took less than an hour to walk through. Most of the historical buildings were ruined by modern signs.

The park itself was beautiful! We were there on a Sunday afternoon, and it was surprisingly busy with many people hanging out or walking through. Some seemed sketchy to us, but we did see a few police cars patrolling the area in the less than three hours we were there.
